I have never heard of one rroding if you have feel free to provide proof. The fact remains that I'm giving accurate information. this is only for rrod, so if you had another problem, it's probably fine either way. I don't know about the xbox one as I've never owned one.

however, turning off a ps4 is an abrupt stop as well. they fixed this with at least rest mode on the ps4. the fan abruptly stops, just like the ps3, when you turn the system off, so it doesn't continue to cool the system down. the solder joints develop cracks from the constant heating up, then cooling down. however, the melting point of solder is far above what the system would reach by several hundred degrees. lead solder has a higher melting point I believe, so it should last longer. another issue is that the solder is lead free to conform to green laws. what has been done is that the chips are smaller, so they dispense less heat. neither of these things were fixed with any phat 360. and, the fan tunnel/shroud has gaps in it.
the dvd drive, according to the lead engineer, was forgotten about when it comes to heat, so both cpu and gpu are essentially boxed in.
